Astronaut Charged With Attempted Murder

Looks like even NASA’s tight screening procedures can’t identify and keep nutcases like this woman out of its space program.
A NASA astronaut accused of trying to kidnap a romantic rival for a space shuttle pilot’s affections was charged with attempted first-degree murder Tuesday and will remain jailed.
Now, you just know this wouldn’t be on Hot n Stinky if there weren’t some more interesting details…
Police said Nowak drove 900 miles, donned a disguise and was armed with a BB gun and pepper spray when she confronted a woman she believed was a competitor for the affections of Navy Cmdr. William Oefelein, an unmarried fellow astronaut.

Nowak raced from Houston to Orlando wearing diapers in the car so she wouldn’t have to stop to go to the bathroom, authorities said. Astronauts wear diapers during launch and re-entry.
Guess that training wasn’t wasted. She did learn something. Too bad they didn’t spend more time on inter-astronaut dating.
If she really wanted a man, maybe she should have tried 911.
Senator encourages premarital sex

Well, not quite.
But that’s what some people seem to think the repeal of a decades-old law “making it illegal for a man and woman to live together without being married” in North Dakota will lead to.
North Dakota is one of the few states that outlaws cohabitation, which is defined as a man and woman living together “openly and notoriously” as if they were married.
It is listed as a sex crime in state law, alongside adultery and incest. There are few records of a cohabitation case being prosecuted, aside from a North Dakota Supreme Court appeal in the 1930s.
Attempts to repeal the anti-cohabitation law have failed in the last two sessions of the Legislature. Two years ago, a repeal bill was defeated in the North Dakota House.
I feel sorry for North Dakotans — at least the smart ones who want to repeal idiotic laws like this.

The man was arrested after several complaints about “his illegitimate relations with married women and filming the scene”, were made to police in the northern town of Behshahr, the Etemad-Melli newspaper said today.
YouTube blocks steamy video of Brazilian supermodel Cicarelli

SAO PAULO, Brazil - Video sharing Web site YouTube is blocking steamy footage showing supermodel Daniela Cicarelli in intimate scenes with her boyfriend, the company said a day after a judge ordered it to find a way to stop Brazilian viewers from seeing the video.
“The video in question was removed from YouTube because it violated our terms of use,” YouTube said Friday in a statement attributed to spokeswoman Jaime Schopflin. “It was recently uploaded again and we became aware of it through media reports and users flagging the content, and we removed these copies immediately.”
San Bruno-based YouTube’s announcement came after court officials said Thursday that the judge issued the injunction requiring the company to prevent Brazilian Internet users accessing the wildly popular video showing Cicarelli and Brazilian banker Renato Malzoni making out along a beach near the Spanish city of Cadiz.
The two sued YouTube in September and won an injunction for the removal of the video, but Sao Paulo state Supreme Court Justice Enio Santarelli Zuliani expanded his order this week after the clip continued to appear periodically, the court’s press office said.
Unfortunately, Hot ‘N Stinky don’t live in Brazil, so we don’t get to enjoy the sight of lovely Brazilian women frolicking on the beach very often. But Brazilian judges can’t stop the Internet, and the buzz around this story has resulted in the entire world discovering Ms. Cicarelli’s shallow water fun.
